Johanna-Maria Fritz (1994) studied photography at the renowned »Ostkreuz Schule für Fotografie« in Berlin/Germany. She has been a member of the respective Ostkreuz Agency since 2019.
Fritz’ work focuses on disadvantaged or marginalized groups, women and conflict zones and has been shown nationally and internationally. She was awarded the Inge Morath Prize, the Peace Prize for Photography, the PH Grant for Photography and World Press Photo Award 2024.
Fritz is based between Berlin and the Middle East, but spent much of her time in the Ukraine documenting Russian war crimes for newspapers such as Der Spiegel, Die Zeit, Le Monde and others.
